On Tuesday we introduced Groundshift to Taranaki!

Rachel and Kenneth Short were superstars in opening their home, shed and beautiful farm to over 30 of us to enjoy in Opunake.

We introduced our team, and our hopes and dreams for what Groundshift can do for our communities. As well as the integrity that we bring with our strong ethos around being independent from product sales.
‍

We spent some time looking into the farmers individual goals and getting to know others in the group. We then headed out into the paddock to look into what water infiltration can tell us about our soil. A friendly bit of competition got everyone feeling inspired despite rain coats all round. It was pretty fun!

All of these things have us really excited to be able to spend more time with the farmers. It was such a small taste, we can't wait to take a good bite!

Connections were also made with local community bodies who are working in this space and we are looking forward to where this could lead.

There were lots of good questions that came from the crowd around what we are hoping to bring as a business to their businesses. The group was really awesome and we are hopeful that we will be able to kick off our very first cohort soon with spaces filling up fast.

Overall we were really happy with how the day went with farmer feedback saying that they enjoyed their time together and were very interested to learn more about what Groundshift could do for their farms.

We ended the day with a BBQ kindly cooked up by Mat and Vanessa, a couple of local legends. Local organic beef burgers, greens from Roebuck farms as well as sausages from Rach and Kens own farm. So yum!

If you weren't able to make our first field day and are interested in talking about what Groundshift can do for you and your business, don't hesitate to reach out! We can book a call.

FAQ's

If you have a question not answered below please contact the Groundshift team.

Yes, and we'd like you to. If you know a few farmers who'd be keen, become one of our Local Legends. We'll back you to pull the group together. Get in touch to find out what's involved.

Yes. Some cohorts will be one sector, some a mix. It depends on who's keen in your area. Often agriculture is treated as silo's whereas in our experience we find there is a lot to learn from one another. We all have one thing in common - and that's soil and the health of it.

A discussion group gives you the people. Groundwork Groups add structure, trusted knowledge, integrated education, and a commitment to having fun and growing together.
