This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website (groundshift.ag), our online learning platform, and our related education programs, workshops, and events (together, our "Services").
This policy is governed primarily by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) it contains. Where we handle the personal information of individuals in Australia, we also act consistently with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The legal entity responsible for your personal information is [FULL LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g. Groundshift Limited, NZBN ________].
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information we collect

- Farm and business information, such as your farm or business name, location, property size, enterprise type, farming systems and practices, and other operational details you choose to share through the platform, workshops, or coaching.
- Payment information, such as billing details and transaction records. Card payments are processed by our third-party payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Content you submit, such as questions, survey and assessment responses, forum or community posts, and communications with us.
Information we collect automatically:

- Cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable. Occasionally we may receive information from third parties, such as event co-hosts, referral partners, or analytics providers, where you have agreed to that sharing or it is otherwise permitted by law.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the platform and your account.
- Deliver education programs, workshops, online learning, and events, including registrations and follow-up.
- Personalise learning content and recommendations relevant to your farming context.

We will only use your information for a purpose connected to why it was collected, or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless you consent otherwise or the law permits it.
4. Marketing communications
Where you have opted in, or where otherwise permitted by law, we may send you marketing communications about our programs, events, and resources. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service-related messages about your account.
5. Disclosure of your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Service providers who help us operate our Services, such as cloud hosting, platform and software providers, payment processors, email and communications tools, and analytics providers. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services for us.

Some of these providers may be located, or store data, outside New Zealand and Australia. Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by comparable safeguards to those under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where applicable, the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Storage and security
We hold personal information in electronic form, generally with reputable cloud providers, and protect it using reasonable technical and organisational measures including access controls, encryption in transit, and staff confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
7. Your rights and choices
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (and, for Australian individuals, the Australian Privacy Principles) you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading.

- Ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 10. We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and within the timeframes required by law. We may need to verify your identity first. There is generally no charge, though we may charge a reasonable fee for certain access requests as permitted by law.

Some cookies are essential; others (such as analytics cookies) help us improve our content. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly if you do. Our Services are intended for farmers, agribusinesses, and related professionals, and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
